Electricals

17/5/15:  We have made great strides in the electrical department.  We are going with Amcol Super Home for our electrical stuff after handover from MJH.  They will be installing our wonderhome additions - see the "Automation" section for more!!  Also some update pix below due to us changing our minds

Some updated information about lighting. We have our electricals appointment on 1 Dec 2014 and so have been looking at lights and thinking about what we want. So far, this is what we have....

entryway/interior

x3 over the 2.8m kitchen bench
Batten fitting in kitchen to have 3 pendant lights attached.  We are thinking 3 of these.. as the island bench is 2800mm long we are thinking 3 ...... these are not what we are planning.. they are an interim solution... coz we can't have none.....

Coming soon - designed by us... sweat and tears still occurring
trying to obtain our shades... but we shall prevail!!!

Batten fitting in Dining area to have 3 pendant lights attached.  We are going with 3 of these in all the 3 different shades available in a "cluster" of sorts over the dining table. In addition to downlights .....

ceiling fan for the lounge/dining/kitchen

ceiling fan for the alfresco

ceiling fan and light for the guest bedroom, the spare rooms and the office

ceiling fan for master suite

light and fan for the separate toilets

lights on both sides of the mirror in main bath, between the two mirrors in ensuite and next to the mirror in the main separate toilet

We've had a change of mind here too... still looking....
why why why do lights we like have no IP rating for bathrooms?
still... we have time

They don't have a photo for the ensuite and main bathroom light, fan and heat lamp.

alfresco wall lights

entry wall light - external

front of house - lights on columns

We will have security spotlights and LED downlights both internal and external in addition to these.

Next update - downlights, switches and power points. 27 Oct 2014

Ok
Here is where we're going to nut out what we might want:
TV brackets in Theatre Room and Lounge (above fireplace in recess) - Yes
Pay TV to Theatre Room and Lounge - Yes
HDMI cabling to Lounge and Theatre - Yes
Downlights in Kitchen / Lounge / Dining - 3 circuits?  offset the one batten fitting in lounge to position where a downlight might be installed after handover.  These WILL be done after handover - we are running with 1 x batten fitting per room as per standard building contract.

Switch for Kitchen circuit, lounge circuit and dining circuit located on RHS of entry hall opposite fridge, switch for all 3 again located on Theatre wall outside Master Suite ... Do we need switch for the pendants located here as well or just the downlights?  Now it's getting confusing.. does that mean we need:
Downlights kitchen - Yes
Downlights Lounge - Yes
Downlights Dining - Yes
Pendant Kitchen x 3 - Yes
Pendant Dining - 3 cluster - Yes
5 switches - YES

Antenna and Foxtel points by MJH ...
HDMI Cabling by MJH ...
Cat6 from wherever the hub is located (garage wall entryway side) 2 to Kitchen by pantry, 3 or 4 to study nook .... ummm......

Fans with lights to be installed into 3 x bedrooms - Yes

Fan without light to be installed in Master bedroom - Yes - AND downlights as well... dimmable

Fan without light for Alfresco - downlights out here - YES x 4

One light in entry way - 1 x light as shown above

How many lights in garage - 4 x downlights...

Outside light on both stacks - Yes - the up/down type :)
Porch light located on wall (rather than overhead) - Yes - to come... we have found it... now to get it.... :)
Wiring for intercom to Porch? - Yes - to be done after handover

Do we wire now for potential motorised blinds - how hard is it to do later?  Where does the wiring go to?  How is it "capped/stopped/ended" if not installed immediately? - Not doing now... perhaps something to consider another time - off the radar for now... we have enough going on :P

We will be replacing the switchplates in the main areas with the "glass" press switches from Clipsal "saturn" range

We will have a few whereby there will be an "extra" switch which when pressed will activate a scene ie press the "leaving" switch and the lights come on over the dogs, the rest of the lights in the house go off and the radio comes on.... that kind of thing :)  I'm putting my thinking caps on... lots to decide here for scenes.  Watch this space...
